WHAT IS THIS?
VV-100 is a medical device that helps to localise the vessels on the surface of the skin in real time. This allows users to check the patency of the veins and detect valves or branches. The lightweight, hand-held device can be easily converted into a hands-free device using optional stands.

HOW?
The haemoglobin in the blood absorbs near-infrared (NIR) light. When the device is held over the skin, the veins appear noticeably different from the surrounding tissue. The vasculature appears clearly on the surface of the skin, making it much easier to locate the veins for taking a blood sample or administering IV medication.
