The VitaMedScan
Using the VitaMedScan, 20 trace elements, minerals and the 14 most important toxic metals can be detected intracellularly (predominantly) and extracellularly in the surrounding tissue. This is done using an optical process known as spectrophotometry, in which a known chemical substance is measured by measuring the degree of absorption and optical density through the focussed beam of light.
The principle
A spectrometer or spectroscope is a device that makes it possible to perform a spectrometric measurement of the absorption of a solution at a given wavelength or over a given range of the spectrum.
Spectrophotometry is the field in which the measurement of the energy transported by electromagnetic radiation in the visible light range is analysed.
We selected an X-Rite i1Pro2 device (VitaMedScan), which is a spectrophotometer, as the measuring instrument. This device therefore makes it possible, after appropriate pre-calibration, to search for and quantify an ion (anion or cation) or a molecule. For this purpose, the device performs a first series of measurements on a point on the palm of the hand. The same procedure is repeated at two other points on the hand. All the data is then sent remotely to our company's headquarters, where it is processed by software on a mainframe. This calculates the average of the three specific measurements taken by the therapist for each element in question and then calculates a quantitative average value.
The average value for each element is then compared with the result of an "ideal" person. The quantity found by the therapist during the analysis of the patient makes it possible to determine whether the value is in deficit, in excess or in the ideal value.
After taking into account the different elements measured at the beginning, the software therefore first sends (always remotely) the results for each element sought to the therapist. Depending on the deficiencies or excesses of all the elements analysed, the software then selects foods and active ingredients (in food supplements) to bring the patient back into balance in order to get as close as possible to the "ideal" values set.
Lambert-Beer's law allows the concentration of a solution to be calculated based on the absorption of monochromatic light.
Function of the VitaMedScan
The device measures certain points in the tissue, in the epithelial cells, in the palm of the hand. The results are clearly visualised using a traffic light system. The traffic light system divides the measured values into three different areas: Normal range (green), sub-optimal range above or below normal values (yellow) and deficiency or excess range (red). This makes it very easy to recognise deviations and initiate appropriate measures.
Determinable measurement results
The following results can be determined with the VitaMedScan:
- The 20 most important minerals and trace elements in the human body
- The ratio of the minerals to each other (ratios)
- 14 toxic metals
- The degree of toxic metal load
- Antioxidant capacity
- Interrelationships
- Active ingredient recommendations
- Nutritional assessment
In addition:
- Immediate graphical representation of the composition of vital substances
- Visualise exposure to toxic metals
- Photospectral analysis is a proven diagnostic method in the laboratory
- Precise and reproducible
- can be delegated
- Billing options according to GoÄ, GebüH, GoÄ, GOZ, LNZ, E-Pos.
- High patient acceptance
- individualised therapy
Minerals are essential for the human body, i.e. it cannot produce them itself. It must therefore absorb them externally. This is becoming increasingly difficult as the quality of food is getting worse and worse. Food contains fewer and fewer vital substances and therefore fewer minerals.
A total of 46 are present in the organism - 20 of which are recorded in the VitaMedScan. Minerals can be divided into two groups based on their quantitative distribution in the body: the "actual minerals" and the "trace elements", which are also minerals in chemical terms.
Minerals are categorised as micronutrients as they occur chemically as individual substances or elements and are divided into different groups in the periodic table of elements.
Some conclusions can be drawn from the ratios between two minerals, e.g:
- Ca/Mg high: parathyroid dominance and hyperinsulinism.
- Ca/P: protein metabolism. If high then anabolism with parasympathetic dominance.
- K/Na low: stress reaction and chronic inflammation.
A distinction is made between acute and chronic effects of toxic heavy metals. Acute effects usually occur on direct contact and often even at low levels, as is the case with arsenic, for example. Chronic effects manifest themselves in a variety of problems and clinical symptoms. These include mutagenic and carcinogenic effects, neurotoxic effects, effects on the skeletal system, kidney function, the immune system, haematopoiesis and interactions with essential elements.
In complementary medicine, heavy metals and toxic stress are seen as important factors in a wide range of chronic diseases.
Antioxidant capacity
This indicator measures the oxidised caratinoids. It indicates the real state of health of the organism.
Acid-base balance
This index shows that the patient is in a phase of hyperacidity.
Insulin resistance
This index shows whether the patient has a predisposition to diabetes and whether all the substances required for the pancreas to function optimally are present.
Allergy status
This index shows whether the patient has a predisposition to allergies.
Enzymatic status
This index, similar to the "intestinal barrier function" index, shows the functional status of the intestine, especially its enzymatic balance.
Assimilation of the small intestine
This index, similar to the enzyme status, also shows the state of the intestine, in particular the degree of barrier function.
Metabolism
This index allows to see the level of metabolism, it is based on an algorithm that takes into account the results for Cr, Mo and J.
Immune system
This index shows the level of the immune system in order to recognise whether all the important components for its optimal function are present.
Cognitive function
This index shows the mental function, whether all the necessary components for its optimal functioning are present.
Hormonal status
This index shows the hormone function, whether all the important components for its optimal function are present.
Regeneration of the connective tissue
This index shows the state of the patient's healing ability, but also their "anti-wrinkle" capacity, if all the necessary components for good functioning are present.
Emotional status
This index shows the emotional function, but also the patient's capacity for self-control and anti-stress.
Cardiovascular system
This index shows the condition of the cardiovascular system, i.e. whether all the substances necessary for its function are present.
Nervous system
This index shows the state of nervous function, but also the patient's resistance to stress and mental relaxation.
Limits of the spectrometer
Vitamin measurement is not possible.
Blood glucose measurement is not possible.
Blood pressure cannot be measured.
Detection of 20 minerals and trace elements.
Measurement of 14 toxic metals.
